Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") explains the terms under which TalkingCases ("we", "us") issues refunds for credits, one-time purchases, and subscriptions purchased through TalkingCases.ai (the "Service"). It forms part of our Terms of Service, which you accept when you register and each time you make a purchase.

By purchasing credits or a subscription, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this Policy.

1. Credits Are Non-Refundable Once Used

Credits (including standard and LiveVoice credits) are a consumable, digital good. Once any credit from a purchase or subscription has been consumed in a session, that purchase or subscription is non-refundable. We track credit usage, and any purchase or subscription against which credits have been used is not eligible for a refund.

2. No Refunds on Auto-Renewed Subscription Payments

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. Charges for an auto-renewed subscription period are non-refundable.

To stop future charges, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date using the self-service Billing Portal provided by Stripe. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current, already-paid period.

3. Limited 7-Day Window (First Purchase, Zero Credits Used Only)

Subject to the conditions below, we may, at our discretion, consider a refund request for your first purchase if all of the following are true:

  • The request is made within 7 days of that first purchase; and
  • You have used zero (0) credits across the Service; and
  • The request is made in good faith and not after significant use of the Service.

After 7 days from your first purchase, or once any credit has been used, no refund is available. This 7-day window applies to new signups only and to their first purchase only; subsequent purchases, subscription renewals, and any purchase once credits have been used are not refundable.

Approved first-purchase refunds under this clause will be returned to the original payment method. Processing times are determined by your bank or card issuer.

4. How to Cancel a Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing Portal. You can also update your payment method and view your billing history there. Because cancellation is self-service and available to you at all times, failure to cancel before a renewal does not entitle you to a refund of the renewed charge.

5. How to Request a Refund

If you believe you qualify under Section 3, email us at support@talkingcases.ai from the email address on your account within the 7-day window, and include your account details. We will review your usage and respond in line with this Policy.

Please contact us directly before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback. We are committed to resolving genuine issues promptly.

6. No Guarantee of Outcomes

TalkingCases is an educational study tool. We do not guarantee any exam result, grade, certification, or professional outcome. Purchases are not refundable on the basis of exam performance or perceived study results. See our Legal Disclaimer for details.

7. Chargebacks

By making a purchase you authorise the corresponding charge and agree to this Policy. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute in circumstances not covered by this Policy (for example, after credits have been used, after auto-renewal, or outside the 7-day window) constitutes a breach of these terms, and we may contest such disputes using your acceptance record, usage data, and the cancellation options made available to you.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date and version. Purchases made after a change are governed by the Policy in force at the time of that purchase.
